The Mangalakara Junior College was opened in 2013 and provides high school education to more than 800 young men and women.
The students also have the opportunity to engage in competitive sport, including athletics, volleyball and kabaddi. A number of students have been selected to compete at State level.

In 2018 one of the Junior College students, Y. Rajesh, received the prestigious Prathiba award for academic excellence in Intermediate Education from the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
